When I first started posting about my weight loss endeavors, I had resolved to post an update once a week. As you can tell, though, I haven't managed to do that. The encouragement I've been getting from friends, family, and my co-workers has been great, though, so I think it's only fair I keep everyone somewhat up to date. Things are going well. I'm eight weeks in and I've lost 42 pounds (19 kg). I went through a pretty rough patch at about 4-5 weeks, but that seems to have passed. I've gotten almost every food group back, though I am still very limited on the grains (only 1/2 cup whole wheat per day). The workouts are getting a lot harder, which is good, I guess. My trainer continues to push me. Staying on the diet isn't really that bad, but I do miss deserts on occasion, especially ice cream.
The thing that is really killing me, though, is the smooth jazz at the club. It never ends. Every day when I shower after a workout I have to listen to the same stuff. It's always classic songs like Hotel California remixed with soprano saxes and whatnot. It's driving me nuts! I know now that Thanksgiving is done, they're going to start playing Christmas music. Call me a grinch if you must (Benji always does :-) ), but I don't like Christmas music - especially smooth jazz-ified Christmas music. I think I'm going to start wearing ear plugs into the shower...
But yeah, the weight loss thing is going well. Won't be long before I'll be able to get my true dream job as an underwear model. Yes! (Please don't hold that thought for long. You might hurt yourself...)
