Well, I made it safe and sound to Brisbane. Clearing customs was a breeze, but it did take quite a long time for my bags to come out at the baggage claim. Then I made the silly mistake of assuming I could just catch a shuttle and pay the driver cash. No, I needed to make a reservation. So I was unable to board the first shuttle to my hostel because of that. No matter, it's not like I have anything pressing to do. :-)

It's 10:30 am right now Brisbane time and I am sitting in my room at the Kookaburra Inn hastily typing this up. I just showered, though I don't have soap so it wasn't that helpful I don't think. I do feel better though. No real jetlag to speak of (yet) so hopefully my scheme of switching to Brisbane time before boarding the flight worked. I will probably still go to bed quite early today, but hopefully after that I will be fine.

I'm about to head out to Queen street to see what I can see. Hopefully I'll pick up a cell phone and get hold of Ben and Nick Heyward, who's supposed to be driving up from Uni today to say hello… And I definitely need some lunch. Maybe a Magnum will suffice? :-)
