Off to See the Wizard

I’m writing this from the International terminal at the Los Angeles airport, where I am about to embark on a very much needed vacation. I think all of my friends, family, and colleagues at work breathed a collective sigh of relief when I informed them that this year I was actually going to take a vacation, my first in over 2 1/2 years at Microsoft. And just to reiterate, this vacation is very much needed. :-)

Well, that’s not entirely true; I have taken vacations before, I suppose, but they’ve never been longer than a week, and usually just 2-3 days. I believed, erroneously it would seem, that spacing my vacation days across the entire year was the best way to use them. Alas, 2 days out of the office simply isn’t enough to let go of everything and just relax; hopefully a three-week jaunt to Australia will allow me enough time to really clear my mind.

I’m going to Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, each for about a week. I only have housing currently for the first two days in Brisbane, so it’s definitely going to be an adventure. :-) If you’re around and want to catch me, drop me an email! I want to see everybody. :-)

My flight doesn’t leave for another 90 mins so I am going to make the most of the T-Mobile Wi-Fi access I am paying for…
